This is an excellent collection of writings about life in New York. It includes numerous works of fiction, but also public planning policy about the role of urban design by Robert Moses, Jane Jacobs, and  Frederick Law Olmstead.  While any mention of high speed rail is not included in this collection, it is great reading for anyone who loves literature, studying urban life and the largest city in the United States, New York.  High speed rail supports good urban design, and a literary anthology about urban American life can inspire anyone.
